3 New Demonstration Videos Uploaded


We're starting to work toward an online repository of the song files that are pre-loaded with each Guitar Zero, allowing users to comment on individual tracks and flag songs that have errors.  While this is implemented, we'll also be uploading some new videos showing songs and the achievements they unlock.  If you'd like to request any song in particular, please let us know in the comments.

Update:  The basics of the song files repository is now live at Song-Tracks. We'll be updating track notes and adding additional info in the near future. Please leave any video requests in the comments there.

Price Increase Notice


We are finding it increasingly difficult to locate used (yet still in good working condition) Xbox 360 Les Paul guitars.  Presumably because of their availability, those that we do find are costing more than we've had to pay in the past.

For this reason, starting on October 1st, 2013 the price of the GuitarZero kit pre-installed Les Paul guitar will increase from $150 to $175.  All orders received and paid by the end of September will be able to lock in the $150 price point, so if you're looking to pick up the pre-installed guitar we recommend getting your order in soon.

Please keep in mind that because of the time involved in ordering and receiving the guitar and then installing and fully testing the GuitarZero mod, we require a minimum of 2 weeks after ordering before we're able to ship the modified guitar to you.  To order the pre-modded guitar or if you have any questions, please Contact Us.

New Games Added: June 14, 2012


This week we find the addition of 3 new games to the Xbox Marketplace:

Crysis 3 - The third game sees players take on the role of Prophet as he returns to New York, only to discover the city's been encased in a giant Nanodome created by the corrupt Cell Corporation. The New York City Liberty Dome is a veritable urban rainforest teeming with overgrown trees, dense swamplands and raging rivers. Within the Liberty Dome, seven distinct and treacherous environments become known as the Seven Wonders. Set in 2047, Prophet is said to be on a "revenge mission" after uncovering the truth behind Cell's motives for building the quarantined Nanodomes. The citizens were told that the giant citywide structures were resurrected to protect the population and to cleanse these metropolises of the remnants of Ceph forces. Just Dance Greatest Hits - Dance to more than 35 tracks from Just Dance and Just Dance 2, plus 2 additional bonus tracks "Only Girl (In The World)" by Rihanna and "Airplanes" by B.o.B.  Just Dance Greatest Hits is scheduled for release on June 26, 2012.

KickStarter Is A Go!


Our Guitar Zero KickStarter Project has finally been approved and launched, and with that the "KickStarter" phase of the bahDINK website as well.  I hope you'll get a better feel for what all features will be available throughout this phase and once the next phase begins.

During this phase I'll be adding all of the core functionality that will basically make the site usable once our KickStarter Project ends and the site enters the invite-only Alpha:

  • adding and tracking games and achievements
  • earn reputation for providing missing information
  • submitting missing game and achievement information
  • comparing your personal stats to the average bahDINK userbase
  • creating and managing your Groups and Friends lists
  • and more...

We'll be depending on our Alpha users to help us fill in a lot of the missing game and achievement information.  Unfortunately, for us to get access to all the data we want, we would have to both play and 100% complete every game.  I don't know about you but for us that's currently not feasible, financially or gamingly.

Just a few notes if you're interested in registering in time for the Alpha phase: KickStarter backers who pledge $9 or more will automatically receive an invite to the Alpha phase.  And if you register sooner rather than later you'll have a greater chance for getting an invite.  We will also be employing a reputation system for providing missing information, so those chosen for the Alpha phase will be able to get a head start.

 


Alpha Registrations


While planning out the next several months, we're starting to push our Alpha Registration process.  Once we're ready, we'll decide exactly how many users we'll need to test all the features we're currently implementing and send invites to the first of those that register.  If you think you're interested, then by all means go ahead and register.  And while you're at it, mention it to your friends as well as a few of the main features we'll be testing will be comparing your achievments and setting up and participating in competitions.

Noses to the Grindstone


A new year marks a new spark in our drive to get things up and running here at bahDINK.  We've pulled in a professional graphic designer to give our bland layout a sprucing up (if you can call a much-needed overhaul "sprucing up").  I know it's been a while now, but with the groundwork finally in place to build on we've finally started to build those pieces needed to get up and running.  All of the bugs have been hammered out (as far as we can tell) and functionality is in place on all of these fronts:

  • Fully-automated addition of new games when available on xbox.com
  • Manually-triggered automated import of game details (genres, features, release date, etc.)
  • Manually-triggered automated import of achievements
    • We're introducing a new feature here that will hopefully make the site more user-friendly by preventing spoilers, more info to come ;)
  • User accounts are set up
  • Users are able to add to and remove from their list of played games
  • Logic is in place to allow users to track their achievements, and work is in progress on adding this functionality to the front-end

As you can tell, we're working hard trying to get all of these things (and much more!) in place to build a great community (and it's not like we're working out of posh offices, that is me at my dining room table).  We'll be relying more and more on you to help this community grow and thrive.  We've got a lot planned for the next few months, including a scheduling system to allow users to meet up with each other for achievement boosting or just to have a good time.  Stay tuned for more updates, and feel free to send us a message if you want any more information or just to drop us a line.


Front End Design


The front-end design is really coming together. Once we have some place-holder pages in place for the Competitions, Forums, and Store, I think we're ready to rock 'n roll with the XCDP application to get things fully automated.

Controller

Competitions and Forums will likely sit on place holders for a while, but we're already in contact with a vendor for the Store. He's got some custom hardware to really take your musical gaming to the next level. I've tried his stuff out and it's phenominal... hope to get him on here ASAP.

While the application goes through the paper-shuffle, we're going to get support for Users up and running so yous all can start tracking your 'cheevos, comparing your 'cheevos, and we can start collecting some data.
